Theme→ The gentile believers, having been made into joint heirs with the Jewish believers in Christ, are to walk in the unity that came from their new creation, and stand firm against the devil’s schemes.

- Paul wants and prays for the Ephesians to understand how they specifically have been blessed, being remade and included in the people of God through Christ (1:15-3:21)
- Therefore they must live–walk and stand–in accordance with their changed status (4:1-6:20)
- The Ephesians must walk according to their status as the people of God with one another (4:1-6:9)
- Provision for that walk (4:1-16)
- The way the Ephesians ought to walk (4:17-6:9)
- The Ephesians must stand according to their status against the powers of the this age (6:10-20)
